Under the direction of Jeffrey Messman since 2014, Capital Sports Solutions offers athletics statistics, operations, and media support for colleges and high schools in the Washington, D.C., area. Programs utilizing Capital Sports Solutions for the 2015-16 season include American University volleyball, George Washington University basketball, Georgetown University basketball, lacrosse and volleyball, the University of Maryland volleyball, and Prince George’s Community College basketball.
Prior to establishing Capital Sports Solutions, Messman worked 10 years in collegiate athletics communications in all three NCAA divisions. He spent two years at then-Division I Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana, four years at Division II Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, and four years at Division III Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
During his time as a sports information director, Messman secured student-athletes numerous All-America, All-Region, All-State and All-Conference honors. He served as the SID of the 2007 Division II men’s tennis national championship team at Lynn, was named the AVCA Grant Burger Division II South Region Women’s Volleyball SID of the Year in 2008, and interned with the Washington Freedom of the now-defunct Women’s United Soccer Association during their 2003 championship campaign.
A native Washingtonian, Messman attended Penn State University before graduating from Marymount in 2003. He was also two-year starter for the baseball team at Woodrow Wilson SHS, helping the Tigers to a pair of DCIAA championships.
